CHRIS AUSTIN FOR MAINE HOUSE DISTRICT 43

Real-World Leadership for Real Maine Families

Meet Chris

Maine Born. Maine Proud. District 43 Focused.

Chris Austin is a Maine-born “boomerang Mainer” who returned home in 1999 and built a 20+ year career serving local families and businesses. From starting his career on the teller line to leading teams in banking and financial services industries, Chris lived by one belief: if you work hard, you get rewarded.

He became an entrepreneur in 2017 and today serves as President and owner of Ardiah, a payroll and payment-solutions company supporting Maine’s small businesses. Chris is also a four-term President of Rock Coast Entrepreneurs and an active member of the PenBay Collaboration.

Chris lives in Spruce Head with his wife Lindsey and their blended family of six. He knows life in the trenches as a father, husband, and small business owner — and he’s ready to bring that real-world experience to Augusta.

Chris’s Priorities

A campaign shouldn’t be about noise

it should be about results.

Here are the four pillars Chris is committed to fighting for:

1. Family Focus & Protecting Parental Rights

Parents — not Augusta — should have the final say in their children’s education, health, and values. Chris will fight for:

-Strong parental rights

-School choice (private, homeschool, or alternative programs)

-Funding policies where tax dollars follow the student, not the school bureaucracy

-More affordable housing options

-Lower energy costs and a stronger, more reliable energy future for Maine families

Chris is committed to building a Maine where families can afford to live, raise children, and thrive.

2. Strengthening Our Local Economy & Being Your Small Business Champion

Small businesses are the backbone of Midcoast Maine — and Chris has been in those trenches.

He will fight to:

-Cut unnecessary regulations that punish small employers

-Repeal the Paid Family Medical Leave law and replace it with better, more realistic options for small businesses, employees, and families

-Support entrepreneurs, trades, and Maine-made jobs

-Keep local dollars local

-Ensure affordability so families and small businesses aren’t squeezed out of their hometowns

Chris understands the challenges because he’s lived them.

3. Standing With Our Fishing Community

Our working waterfront is part of who we are — and it’s under pressure.

Chris will:

-Push back against unnecessary, burdensome regulations

-Protect the future of lobstering and local fisheries

-Fight for state-level support the industry actually needs

-Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the men and women who feed Maine

The fishing community deserves a representative who understands the stakes and isn’t afraid to fight.

4. Backing the Blue & First Responders

District 43 deserves a representative who stands firmly with the men and women who protect our communities — not someone who bends to anti-police rhetoric or policies that weaken public safety.

Chris believes in law and order, personal responsibility, and a justice system that actually protects victims — not offenders.

He will:

-Strongly support law enforcement, EMS, and firefighters with the resources they need to do their jobs effectively

-Fight against any “defund,” undermine, or soft-on-crime agendas that make our communities less safe

-Advocate for better equipment, more training, and proper staffing for local departments

-Push for stronger penalties for violent crime, drug trafficking, and repeat offenders

-Stand against policies that tie the hands of law enforcement or place bureaucracy above community safety

Chris believes a strong community starts with respecting those who wear the badge and defending the people who run toward danger when everyone else runs away.

Public safety isn’t partisan — but the solution requires backbone. Chris has it.
